Fig Almond Energy Bite Truffles
Fig Almond Energy Bite Truffles are easy 4-ingredient vegan energy bites rolled in your choice of coatings to make a deliciously healthy and fun snack or dessert!
Yes, I made you truffles! But no…they’re not made out of chocolate. I know that’s strange coming from this self-professed choc-aholic, but sometimes I just like to change things up.
I thought it would be really fun to make these Fig Almond Energy Bite Truffles right around Valentine’s Day to give you:
- a healthy snack option or
- a fun healthier Valentine’s treat
And let me tell you, these little truffle bites are addicting. 🙂
This energy bite recipe was on my mind for a while, but finally just got around to making them. The first time I made them they were spot on and I went no further. They were energy bite perfection, if you will.
I know a lot of people out there aren’t terribly fond of fresh figs, but dried figs are a much different thing. They’re a lot less sweeter than fresh figs, and I love the crunchy little seeds in the center.
I’ve told you before that I’m not the biggest fan of dried dates, so I like to use other types of dried fruit in my energy bites. I’ve used dried apricots before, and now we have our dried figs to give these bites a little Fig Newton flair. 🙂
I used Bob’s Red Mill almond meal here as I have it on hand most of the time, but you can definitely use whole almonds like I did in these Apricot Almond Coconut Energy Bites.
I also added rolled oats for some whole grain goodness, and a splash of maple syrup to help bind these together and give them a little more sweetness.
I couldn’t resist truffling these bites up with some pretty coatings like cocoa powder and unsweetened shredded coconut since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, but truthfully you could stop right at the main 4 ingredients and you wouldn’t feel like you were missing out at all. Or you can get creative and roll them in chocolate sprinkles or chopped almonds…the sky is really the limit with these.
These are perfect for a post-workout snack or sweet little treat if you’re trying to eat healthier. They satisfied my sweet tooth perfectly, and that can be tough to do. They’re chewy, just sweet enough, and extremely satisfying.
So save some money on that box of chocolates and make these Fig Almond Energy Bite Truffles instead! You’ll feel good about what you’re eating and you’ll be amazed how delicious something so healthy can be. 🙂

Why have I never thought to combine figs with chocolate? I always go straight for the dates but I really love the idea to use figs. These bites sound so delicious and I’m sure they are great way to avoid over-indulging on treats this time of year!
Figs and chocolate actually sound strange but they go together nicely! Thanks, Sarah, and these have been helping steer clear of the real deal chocolate truffles for now! 🙂

This is a combo I absolutely love. Figs are such an amazing dry fruit in desserts, they add the texture that none can. I make something similar and I know these are super delicious. Those coating are a bit plus. Love it.
