Red Sangria with Orange, Persimmon, and Pomegranate
Red Sangria with Orange, Persimmon, and Pomegranate is easy, classic red sangria with pinot noir wine, brandy and pomegranate juice!
I’ve been waiting weeks to share this red sangria with you! I could barely contain myself. I gave this Red Sangria with Orange, Persimmon, and Pomegranate recipe a trial run on Thanksgiving, thinking it would be the perfect elegant, refreshing cocktail.
It most certainly was, and it really added some sparkle to my holiday.
On most occasions, I drink Pinot Noir or other red wines, but I also love a good red sangria. I love how festive and refreshing sangria is, but what I don’t love is ordering one out and it’s far too sweet.
I like my sangria to be just sweet enough, so that the flavors of the wine, fruit, and other ingredients shine through.
I kept this sangria classic by adding brandy to the mix, as well as sweetened pomegranate juice for my fruit juice. If you use an unsweetened pomegranate juice, you’ll need to use more sugar, because it can be really tart.
Normally I would’ve considered making a simple syrup for this cocktail instead of using straight up granulated sugar, but it was Thanksgiving, and I had way too many other things to tend to.
The granulated sugar worked out perfectly, and you know how long this took me to put together? About 10 minutes — and that’s being generous. I chilled it in the fridge the entire day while I worked on my Thanksgiving dinner, and it was wonderful to sip a glassful as I nibbled on appetizers before dinner.
This Red Sangria with Orange, Persimmon, and Pomegranate will definitely be making an appearance at Christmas and then some. It’s elegant, impressive, and the perfect cocktail to add sparkle to your holidays!
