Grilled Sweet Potato Fries with Sriracha Ketchup are smoky sweet potato wedges grilled until soft and charred, and are served with a sweet and spicy Sriracha ketchup. These grilled fries make the perfect summer side dish, no oven required!
Serves: About 4 servings
For the ketchup:
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha (or more if you like it spicier!)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger*
For the fries:
  • 1 lb. sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ½" thick wedges
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup or honey, optional
  • salt and pepper, to taste
Prepare the ketchup:
  1. Place the ketchup, sriracha, orange juice, and ginger in a small bowl and stir until combined. Set aside.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium. Place the sweet potatoes, olive oil, maple syrup, and salt and pepper in a medium bowl and toss until the sweet potato wedges are well coated. Grill about 4 minutes per side, or until softened with nice grill marks, about 8-10 minutes total depending on thickness. The sweet potato wedges will be slightly blistered when they're ready. Remove from the grill, sprinkle with extra sea salt if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Grated ginger can be quite spicy, so use less if you'd like it to be more of a background flavor. To grate ginger easily, place your ginger in the freezer, then you can grate it, peel and all, with a Microplane grater.

If you have big ketchup lovers, you may want to double this recipe! It will keep stored in the fridge in an air tight container if you have leftovers.
