Blueberry Banana Oat Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 medium banana frozen and cut into chunks
  • 1 1/2 cups almond milk or milk of your choice

Instructions 

  • Place the oats in your blender and pulse until coarsely ground.
  • Add the remaining ingredients and process until smooth. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For best results, use frozen banana to thicken the smoothie and add creaminess.  Pro tip:  freeze overripe bananas in zip top bags!
  • Rolled oats or quick oats are fine in this recipe, or they may be omitted altogether to make it grain free.
  • Almond milk may be substituted with your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk.
