Easy Sausage Foil Packets

Easy Sausage, Pepper and Potato Foil Packets are the easiest summer dinner!  They may be grilled or oven baked and are on the table in 30 minutes! {GF}

Ingredients

  • 4 Klement's Smoked Bratwurst
  • 3/4 pound fingerling potatoes halved and quartered depending on size
  • 1 red bell pepper cored and sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper cored and sliced
  • 1 red onion halved and sliced along the lines
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions 

  • Preheat the grill to medium or the oven to 425 degrees. and prepare (8) 14" sheets of foil.
  • Place 4 of the sheets of foil in a row and place the other 4 over the top of them creating a double layer for each packet.
  • Place all ingredients in a large bowl and toss until well combined.  Divide evenly among the 4 pieces of foil.
  • For each packet, fold over one long side to the middle, then the other.  Fold over the top and bottom and pinch together to seal.
  • Grill or bake for 20 minutes.  Remove from heat and allow to cool for a couple of minutes.  Open carefully to release the steam and enjoy!

Notes

  • The bratwurst may be substituted with your favorite sausage.
  • Customize these packets with your favorite potatoes, veggies and spices!
  • These foil packets may be assembled in advance and cooked just before you're ready to eat.
