3-Ingredient Pineapple Cherry Smoothie
This Pineapple Cherry Smoothie is made with only 3 ingredients with no added sugar. It’s gluten and dairy free and tastes just like a Big Stick Popsicle!

How was your Labor Day? Mine was great, but I need some serious help over here. We’re weeks away from fall and I’m in denial about it.
I have no idea why it’s so hard for me to let go of summer this year!
Maybe it’s because I’ve been obsessed with cherries. I’ve been making my cherry overnight oats like mad, and this Pineapple Cherry Smoothie has been on repeat!
My youngest son proclaimed it the best smoothie I ever made, and I had to agree that it has a place up at the top of my list too.
One major reason is that it tastes just like a Big Stick Popsicle, which totally takes me back to my childhood. 🙂
I was reminiscing about the old days when the idea for this smoothie popped in my head. The Big Stick Popsicle has cherry, pineapple and orange flavors, and I figured I had to give it a whirl.
I’m so glad I did!
Recipe ingredients
You only need 3 ingredients for this cherry smoothie recipe:
- Cherries. Use fresh or frozen.
- Pineapple. Use fresh or frozen.
- Orange juice. For best results, use fresh orange juice as it’s unsweetened and has a fresher flavor.
How to make this recipe
This cherry smoothie is extremely easy to make. If using fresh, pit them up to a few days in advance to save time.
Pro tip: If all of your fruit is frozen, you’ll need another 1/2 cup of liquid. You can use more orange juice, or if you’d like to keep sugar to a minimum, use water or coconut water. If all of your fruit is fresh, you’ll need to use at least another 1/2 cup of ice.

Can I use frozen cherries and fresh pineapple?
That should work perfectly!
I’m having a hard time letting go of summer this year too, Marcie! I’m finally starting to embrace Fall! I LOVE stick popsicles – I actually made my husband go out and get me one from the gas station the other night 😉 I wish I had seen this post before that, because at least this would be healthy! It looks terrific, I’ll have to try it soon!
I loveeeee using cherries in smoothies! This looks so good – perfect for cooling off in hot weather or just for enjoying in cold weather too haha We’ve started to have some small signs of fall here weather wise and I am pumped. Although it’s the first year in a long time that I’ve really enjoyed summer so I’m surprised at how excited for fall I am! I make no sense 🙂
I can’t believe it took me so long to try them in smoothies! Glad to hear you had a great summer and that you’re ready for fall. I’m slowly getting there as the weather is cooling off and it’s getting dark earlier. It’s in the air!
I love how this smoothie takes only 3 ingredients! I’ve been using cherries – fresh and frozen – in my smoothies a lot this summer. They’re something so good about them in smoothies!!
Cherries are so amazing in smoothies and it’s so great that you can find frozen ones anywhere so that you can bypass pitting them! Thanks Nicole!
I haven’t made a smoothie with cherries yet either, but the pictures look so appetizing!
I gotta say I’m reallllllllly looking forward to fall weather, since Oregon hasn’t seen rain in 3 months, and my entire state is engulfed in wildfires. We can’t open our windows at the moment because the air quality is dangerous. So that said, I’m craving FRESH foods and cold drinks. I’m looking forward to guzzling this smoothie! California is aflame as well, I hope you’re in a safe area!
Thank you Christina! We got a lot of smoke in my area from Oregon and central California fires and it was awful, so I can imagine how bad it must’ve been to live even closer to them! I hope the air gets clean soon and that you can get outside and enjoy!
I’m not ready for summer to be over, either! We’re already getting signs of fall in Reno/Tahoe, but I’m pretending like we have another 3 months of summer ahead, lol! I’ve never had a Big Stick popsicle, but based on your description, I need to experience it via this smoothie asap! Loving the simple approach for such a delicious and healthful beverage!
It went from blazing hot to raining a little today. It’s also getting dark early so the jig is pretty much up! Thanks Julia! 🙂
This is perfect for an end of summer smoothie! I’ve never used pineapple in a smoothie before, so I’m loving this flavor combination. And I love that pretty color, too!
Thanks Gayle! Pineapple adds such a nice flavor and sweetness to smoothies!
Cherries are one fruit I never seem to include in my smoothies but this recipe is making me want to start! It sounds so refreshing with the pineapple and orange juice. Yum!
Thanks Sarah…I finally got around to it and now there’s no going back! 🙂
