3-Ingredient Cherry Pineapple Smoothie
This Cherry Pineapple Smoothie is made with only 3 ingredients with no added sugar. It’s gluten and dairy free and tastes just like a Big Stick Popsicle!
How was your Labor Day? Mine was great, but I need some serious help over here. We’re weeks away from fall and I’m in denial about it. Why is it so hard for me to let go of summer this year??
I was on a summer grilling/cobbler baking binge this past weekend. I made burgers one night, then barbecued chicken the next, with sides like my fingerling potato salad, corn and zucchini salad, and grilled sweet potato fries.
I even battled record breaking temps (we’re talking 106 degrees) by turning the oven on one day to bake my Fresh Peach Blackberry Cobbler! It was worth it.
I’m also still buying cherries for as long as they’re around, and I recently whipped up this 3-Ingredient Cherry Pineapple Smoothie. My youngest son proclaimed it the best smoothie I ever made, and I had to agree that it has a place up at the top of my list too.
One major reason? It tastes just like a Big Stick Popsicle. 🙂
I have very fond childhood memories of playing outside almost non-stop with my brother, sister, and our neighborhood friends all summer long.
This was a long time ago, when parents could let their kids run amuck outside and not worry about them for the most part. It was a simple time with no cell phones and no internet, and I often dream about going back to those days.
You could call it the stone age, but those were the good ‘old days for me. 🙂
The highlight of the day every summer would be when the ice cream truck rolled up the street. We heard the familiar tune playing from around the corner and ran inside quick for some money. On a good day we’d get some!
I normally chose either a Push-Up, Missile Popsicle, or you guessed it…a Big Stick Popsicle.
I was reminiscing about those days in my head when the idea for this smoothie popped in my head. The Big Stick Popsicle has cherry, pineapple, and orange flavors, and I figured I had to give it a whirl.
I used fresh pitted cherries, fresh orange juice, and frozen pineapple chunks and it turned out perfectly. The best part is that you can use frozen cherries when cherries aren’t in season anymore so you can enjoy this Cherry Pineapple Smoothie all year round.
I know I will be.
