Blueberry Overnight Oats
The best kind of breakfast is one that doesn’t require lifting a finger in the morning, and these Blueberry Overnight Oats fit that description perfectly. They’re creamy, satisfying and packed with juicy blueberries, and they take just 5 minutes of prep the night before. They’re gluten-free, vegan and perfect for meal prep breakfast!
I’m not a morning person. so the best kind of breakfast for me is one that’s mostly prepped ahead. I love having a batch of banana waffles in the freezer or crustless broccoli quiche in the refrigerator, but sometimes I need a quicker option.
That’s where overnight oats come in. They can be prepped the night before at a moment’s notice, so they’re my go-to. They literally come together in 5 minutes flat!
My pumpkin overnight oats are a favorite in the fall months, and my peanut butter overnight oats are great all year round.
Out of all the overnight oats recipes that I’ve shared here, these Blueberry Overnight Oats are my all time favorite. They’re creamy, so easy to make, and they include my favorite fruit.
This recipe is proof that the simple things in life are best. 🙂

Recipe ingredients
This blueberry overnight oats recipe includes just 5 ingredients!
Aside from the blueberries, this recipe is a blank canvas and may be flavored or customized any number of ways.
- Old fashioned rolled oats. Rolled oats are best for this recipe as they provide a nice texture, but quick oats may be used if that’s all you have on hand. If you enjoy steel cut oats, be sure to see my recipe for overnight steel cut oats. They have a nice chewy texture!
- Chia seeds. I highly recommend chia seeds as they help thicken the oats and they provide a boost of fiber and nutrition. If you don’t have any on hand, decrease the amount of milk to 2 cups.
- Almond milk. The almond milk may be substituted with your favorite milk.
- Maple syrup. Substitute with your favorite sweetener.
- Blueberries. Fresh or frozen blueberries may be used, or sub with your favorite fruit.

Recipe FAQs
Overnight oats are soaked in milk overnight until soft. The oats absorb the liquid, resulting in soft, creamy oats in the morning. Chia seeds help thicken the oats even more, and add a boost of nutrition as well.
Combine the oats, chia seeds, almond milk and maple syrup in a medium bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight or until thickened, and stir in the blueberries when you’re ready to eat!
Overnight oats may be eaten warm or cold…it’s a personal preference. While I prefer to eat my overnight oats cold, my boys always prefer them warm. To warm overnight oats, simply heat them in the microwave for 30-45 seconds and enjoy.
Blueberry overnight oats keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. For best results, top with blueberries right before serving.

Hi Patricia — I’m sorry but I have not measured the serving size in ounces.
hi this recipe sounds lovely. I’m obsessed with overnight oats. I didnt get how many calories there are in 100g?
Hi — my recipe card calculated 174kcal or calories. It had listed servings at 1g instead of 1, which probably caused the confusion!
This is one of my favorite recipes. You can substitute any fruit and it’s still amazing or use coconut milk. I throw whatever nuts or berries I have in it.
