Cherry Overnight Oats
Enjoy the flavors of cherry pie with these Cherry Overnight Oats! Creamy overnight oats are layered with a sweet fresh cherry compote for a delicious summer breakfast. They’re gluten-free, vegan and great for meal prep!
Overnight oats are one of my favorite meal prep breakfasts. My blueberry overnight oats and coconut overnight oats recipes have been my go-to’s for years, but I love changing things up with new and exciting flavors.
I can’t get enough fresh cherries this time of year, so I decided to create a flavor that’s reminiscent of cherry pie.
These creamy Cherry Overnight Oats are layered with my easy cherry compote for a healthful breakfast that has all the flavors of cherry pie.
You can also opt to forgo the compote and simply add fresh cherries to make things even easier.
This is one of my favorite summer breakfast recipes because it’s so easy to prepare, it’s great for meal prep, and it’s absolutely delicious. 🙂

Recipe ingredients
- Cherries. Use your favorite variety of fresh cherries, or use frozen cherries as a time saver. The cherries may be pitted up to a few days before preparing the filling.
- Oats. Old fashioned rolled oats lend the best texture to these overnight oats. See my banana overnight steel cut oats if you prefer to use steel cut oats.
- Milk. Use your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk.
- Chia seeds. Thickens the overnight oats and adds protein and fiber. If you don’t have any on hand, omit them and decrease the amount of milk to 2 cups.
