The color of this Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing says it all — it’s bursting with fresh raspberry flavor! It’s the perfect balance of sweet, tangy flavor, and is sure to elevate all of your summer salads. It includes just 6 ingredients and it comes together in less than 10 minutes!
I love using tart, juicy raspberries during the warm summer months when they’re at their peak of freshness. Their vibrant color and flavor make recipes like my raspberry rhubarb crumble bars and raspberry muffins shine!
Raspberries are wonderful in savory recipes as well, and this Raspberry Vinaigrette Dressing is the perfect example.
The dressing is one of my favorite salad dressing recipes. It’s sweet and tangy, and the vibrant, juicy raspberry flavor complements my raspberry salad and arugula salad with goat cheese just beautifully.
It’s so quick and easy to prepare that you’ll never buy it at the store again. 🙂
Why you’ll love this recipe
- This raspberry balsamic vinaigrette is bursting with the sweet, tangy flavor of fresh raspberries and is guaranteed to elevate your summer salad recipes.
- It includes just 6 simple ingredients and under 10 minutes to make.
- It’s customizable with your favorite vinegar, sweetener and even berries.
Recipe ingredients
For years I used to buy store bought raspberry dressing, then I read the label and realized that it was loaded with preservatives and too many ingredients that I couldn’t pronounce.
This recipe includes just a few real food ingredients that are completely customizable with what you have on hand.
- Raspberries. The raspberries are the star ingredient in this dressing, so use fresh raspberries for the best flavor. Frozen raspberries may be used in a pinch, just be sure to thaw them slightly and blot them dry gently with a paper towel.
- Vinegar. Balsamic vinegar is my choice for this dressing as it has a sweet, tangy flavor that pairs very well with the raspberries, but it does make the dressing a brownish red color. Sub with red wine vinegar for a brighter red dressing if you prefer!
- Lemon juice. Adds bright flavor to the dressing. If you don’t have any lemon on hand, sub with additional vinegar.
- Sweetener. Honey or maple syrup both work well in this recipe. The amount of sweetener really depends on how sweet your raspberries are. I suggest starting with 1.5 tablespoons of sweetener and adding more to taste.
- Dijon mustard. Adds savory depth of flavor.
How to make raspberry dressing
You won’t believe how easy this raspberry dressing recipe is to make! It’s ready in under 10 minutes and there’s barely any prep time involved.
The amount of sweetener that you need for the dressing will depend on how sweet your raspberries are.
Pro tip: For the best flavor, use fresh raspberries when they’re in season in the spring and summer months. If using frozen raspberries, thaw and blot dry gently with paper towels.
See the recipe card below for full instructions.
- Place the raspberries, vinegar, lemon juice, honey, dijon mustard, salt and pepper in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the blade attachment and secure the lid.
- With the machine running, add the olive oil through the feed tube and process until smooth.
Recipe FAQs
Store raspberry balsamic vinaigrette in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
While I recommend using fresh raspberries for maximum flavor, you can use frozen raspberries in this raspberry vinaigrette as well.
Thaw frozen raspberries slightly, then blot dry with paper towels before using.
Balsamic vinegar adds a wonderful sweet, tangy flavor to raspberry dressing, however it will make the dressing a brownish red color.
Red wine vinegar is another great option. It’s a bit more tart in flavor, and lends a brighter red color to the dressing.
