Pineapple Green Smoothie
This Pineapple Green Smoothie makes it easy to eat more greens! It’s a refreshing blend of pineapple, power greens, and crisp apple for a delicious vegan smoothie that the whole family will love!
Smoothies are a favorite in my house, so I try to make them as nutritious as possible. My orange cream smoothie and blueberry banana smoothie are packed with Vitamin C and antioxidants, but the addition of greens packs a powerful punch of nutrients.
My kale smoothie and this Pineapple Green Smoothie include a whopping 2 cups of greens, and my teenage taste testers give them both two big thumbs up.
Any which way I can get them to consume more produce is a win in my book.
If you’re skeptical of green smoothies, this Power Green Pineapple Smoothie will really surprise you. You can taste the greens, but the pineapple and apple makes this so sweet and refreshing that you don’t mind a bit.
My boys are downing them like they’re milkshakes, which is definitely saying something. 🙂

Recipe ingredients
This green breakfast smoothie includes just a few ingredients that are customizable with what you have on hand.
Ingredient notes
- Power greens. I use power greens for salads all the time, which includes baby kale, spinach and Swiss chard. My boys really like them, so there’s a whopping 2 cups in this green pineapple smoothie! Feel free to use your favorite greens.
- Frozen pineapple. I used fresh pineapple in this simple green smoothie, which I cut and froze. You can buy frozen pineapple at the store, but if you use fresh pineapple be sure to add 1/2 – 1 cup of ice to make the smoothie nice and frosty.
- Green apple. The green apple adds a nice dimension in flavor and also thickens the smoothie up slightly.
- Almond milk. Sub the almond milk with your favorite dairy or non-dairy milk. I’ve also made this with coconut water, which turned out great as well.
- Chia seeds. Chia seeds are nutritional powerhouses, so I love throwing them into my smoothies, chai overnight oats, or make chocolate chia pudding.

Wow, you have been a busy woman this summer! Your trip to the coast sounds like it was a lot of fun. I just love that part of California. It’s breathtakingly beautiful!
Sorry to hear you got stuck in traffic. I never handle it well either. Hopefully the basketball tournament was worth it. 😉
This smoothie looks amazing! I’m a huge fan of pineapple, especially this time of year because of how hydrating it is. Between that and the coconut water, this is pretty much the perfect summer smoothie!
I have been busy, and I’m glad all the traveling is over so we can wind down before school starts in just a few weeks — yikes! The tournament was worth it — San Diego is always nice to visit and I do like myself some basketball. 🙂 Thanks, Sarah!
Wow…this sounds super healthy and delicious… 🙂
A healthy start to a day…
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful recipe!!!
Thank you, Puja! 🙂
Not only does this look pretty but I bet it’s amazing- love the addition of the green apple! I’m glad you have had fun traveling lately!
Thanks so much, Ashley! 🙂
I don’t know if a green smoothie has ever looked so good to me! LOVE the pineapple and green apple! I have yet to try one but I think this might be first on my list!
Thank you, Ashley — you’re so sweet! We’ve all fallen head over heels for this one! 🙂
Summers are definitely busier with all the events going on but I’m so glad you had fun and a bit of a break online 🙂 Green smoothies are the perfect way to get back on track. This one is gorgeous, Marcie! Love the pineapple and green apple in here!
Thank you, Kelly, and this smoothie definitely helped me get back on track! 🙂
Mmm, this sounds so healthy and refreshing! I love pineapple.
La Jolla is my favorite too! Ugh, I hear you, it seems like traffic has been HORRIBLE here in SoCal lately. I live in northern San Diego County and it took me THREE hours to get to my cousin’s in Long Beach 2 weekends ago – which can take only 75 minutes without traffic. It was rough!
Traffic is horrible down there, and it’s pretty bad up here in the S.F. Bay Area too. CA is just too crowded, right? Thanks, Nicole, and I hope the traffic gets better!
This smoothie sounds so refreshing, I definitely need to try this! I am impatient when it comes to traffic too, urgh! :/
Traffic is the pits! Thanks, Manali! 🙂
Summers always feel like such a busy time of year, but I’m sure it was nice to take a little break from the blog. I’m totally loving this smoothie, Marcie. I think I did a little too much taste testing this weekend and definitely need one right about now. I love how much greens you packed in there too!
I needed to take a break for my sanity, and it really helped! Thanks, Danielle! 🙂
haha um yeah, I am so impatient when it comes to traffic! The worst is when you are coming home from trips!!
I’ve been having a green smoothie with mango and pineapple pretty much every morning lately! I love that you used green apple – must try that!
Traffic is always the worst coming home! It never fails. 🙁 Oh, mango and pineapple together are the best — I need to do it more! Hope you’re having a great Monday, Ashley!
Why haven’t I tried pineapple in smoothies before? It sounds fabulous 🙂
It is fabulous, Medha — I hope you try it! 🙂
Well I’m glad you have been having fun!! Busy, but having fun… that’s what summer should be all about. But 11 hours in the car?! OMG, my worst nightmare!! I get car sick reallllly bad, so that would make me a miserable lady! This smoothie looks delicious, Marcie and I’m loving the ingredients! Power smoothie for sure! Gimme all the healthy deliciousness! Cheers, girlfriend!
Summer IS about having fun, but yeah, 11 hours in the car really wasn’t fun! Luckily I don’t get car sick! lol Thanks so much, Cheyanne, and happy Monday! 🙂
This smoothie is so pretty, Marcie! And it really does sound like it would give me an energy boost! I’ll have to try one during my afternoon slump, when I usually reach for the iced coffee. 😉
Thank you, Kristine! This is definitely a nice replacement for that iced coffee that I love so much, too. haha
This smoothie sounds like the perfect way to start my day! Loving all those greens, Marcie. This honestly looks like the most delicious green smoothie ever!
Thank you, Jen! We can’t get enough of this smoothie!
I sorta dread going away on vacation because I know I won’t be able to create and experiment in my kitchen . At the same time, I know it’s good to take a break every now and then. Hope you had a great time on your trips. This smoothie looks like the perfect welcome home drink!
I used to really dread getting away but I’ve learned to let go a bit — I’m normally really inspired to get back at it when I get home! Thank you, Megan!
Sounds like you’ve been having a busy but fun summer, Marcie! La Jolla is my favorite spot in San Diego and I can’t wait to go back! This smoothie looks delicious.
