The classic combination of honey and mustard has always been a favorite of mine. The sweetness of the honey complements the savory, pungent flavor of dijon mustard, creating a dressing that’s guaranteed to make any salad more exciting.

Recipe ingredients
Ingredient notes
- Olive oil. Use a good quality extra virgin olive oil for the best flavor.
- Honey. Local honey is a great option as it contains local pollen that will help fight seasonal allergies and it isn’t pasteurized or processed. The amount of honey may be reduced significantly to make this dressing even better for low sugar diets.
- Mustard. I love using coarse ground mustard for the flecks of mustard seeds, but dijon mustard is a great choice as well.
- Vinegar. Apple cider vinegar adds flavor that pairs very well with the honey and mustard, but you can use whatever variety you have on hand.
- Lemon juice. One teaspoon of fresh lemon juice really makes the flavors pop, but you can omit it if you don’t have it on hand.
- Salt and pepper. Enhances the flavor of the dressing.
